ICF Anatomy
Is Your Home Built for the Next Storm?
When we build in Fort Myers, we don't just build walls—we build shields. Ever wonder what makes an Elemental ICF wall stand up to a Category 5 hurricane? It is all about the anatomy of the build. Starting from the outside, we apply a durable acrylic stucco finish over a high-performance 2.5-inch EPS foam panel. These panels are held together by high-strength plastic webs every 6-8 inches, creating a form for our 6-inch reinforced concrete core, complete with a dense grid of vertical and horizontal steel rebar. Inside, we have another 2.5-inch EPS panel, topped with half-inch drywall. This 11-inch structural marvel delivers unmatched hurricane resistance, massive energy savings, a 4-hour fire rating, and incredible sound dampening. When the wind picks up, you want the peace of mind that only solid steel-reinforced concrete can provide. Are you planning to build in Southwest Florida soon, and is hurricane resistance your top priority?
